Helen Keegan is a Research Fellow at the University of Salford, UK. For the past 10 years she has worked as a researcher and director on many funded projects centering around the use of ICT in teaching and learning, and she is an active member of the 6* rated IRIS Research Institute. Her research interests include:
- Virtual communities, online social networking and digital identity
- Learning technologies and social software in education
- Multi User Virtual Environments (e.g. Second Life)
- Virtual mobility and online communities of practice (specifically with regards to intercultural communication and online collaboration)
