Session Outline

 

Goals

By the end of the 6 week workshop participants will have:

  • discussed about current issues concerning the use of eportfolios in lifelong learning;
  • analized their PLE;
  • engaged hands-on with several relevant web 2.0 tools to develop a reputable presence online;
  • experienced learning in community and collaboration in online environments;
  • created personal(ized) spaces where they can represent their activity, and their professional development and engagement.

 

 

Week by week overview

 

Week 1 (12Jan - 18Jan)

Getting acquainted
 

During the first week of the workshop, participants will

  • Join the communal space (ning)
  • Edit their profile.
  • Befriend other members of the workshop
  • Leave comments on other participants' personal walls [inside their individual Ning spaces "My Page"]
  • Answer a survey in their expectations about this workshop
  • Discuss "how do you use media now"  (warming up to bigger and deeper discussions)
 
 

Week 2 (19Jan - 25Jan)

Researching


During week 2, participants will

  • Produce a mind-map reflecting his/her personal learning environment
  • Share their mind map  with the group.

  • Attend Online synchronous session with guest speaker  Helen Keegan on Digital Me (Time/date tbc)

 

 

Week 3 (26Jan - 1Feb)

Planning


In week 3, participants will

  • Attend live session(s) by moderators / watch the recording(s)
  • Explore relevant tools and applications for their Personal Learning Spaces
  • Analize the usefulness of the tool in their practice context
  • Engage in discussions
  • Reflect about their findings in their blogs "what tools can be relevant for my Digifolio"; which learning spaces might have more impact in my practice"

 


Week 4: (2Feb - 8Feb)

Creating

 

In week 4, participants will

  • Continue exploring the tools they considered more effective to represent and present their learning.
  • Share their creation process in the collective / personal discussion spaces "how far have I gone", "how am I enhancing my digital learning self"

 

Special

 
  •   Online synchronous session with guest speaker Graham Attwell on Social Software, Personal Learning Environments and the future of Education (time/date tbc)

 

Week 5 (9 - 15 Feb)

Presenting

During this week participants will:

  • Continue to develop their online presence
  • Share the outcomes of their endeavor with the rest of the group.
  • Present their projects to the rest of the group in live sessions  

 

Week 6 (16-22 Feb)

Reflecting

 

During the final week participants will

  • Engage take part in a joint reflection about the workshop in teh discussion forum:  'what was achieved and what is still left to conquer'.
  • Post small individual reflection about their 6 week learning path in their blogs
  • Answer our final survey
  • Join the Virtual Graduation party.
